After testing revolver vs semi-auto & all calibers, wife settled on this for comfort, accuracy, ease of handling & confidence. Confidence puts my mind at ease. Rather she shoot with accuracy & confidence rather than reluctance. As always great Ruger quality & operation.

My wife loves this gun. She is new to shooting and did not enjoy shooting larger caliber pistols. Very accurate and fun to shoot. (Posted on 3/13/2017)

Overall the gun shoots great and easy to handle. I really have no complaints about the performance. I do however would complain for days about how dirty this gun was when i received. After shooting first time i field stripped to clean and wow, the amount of rust and gunk in this gun was unbelievable. I would have to blame this solely on Ruger. Basically if you buy, disassemble and clean as soon as you get it home. I have bought guns that havent been cleaned in years that was cleaner than this. Mindblowing to say the least, but overall it is still a good pistol. (Posted on 3/8/2017)

Great little gun to take to the range or chase cans behind the barn. Use good ammo...w/o realizing I had CCI "quiet" shells, they "STOVE PIPED" and would not feed automatically. No problem since...Love it. Just as dependable as my old Ruger Standard 22. (Posted on 2/3/2017)

This gun is a nice size gun for the younger enthusiast to the older enthusiast. The magazines (2 included) are easy to load. A well balanced gun. Ambidextrous safety, which is great for lefties! The gun is also easy to disassemble for cleaning. My son and I were able to shoot one of these guns after completing a pistol safety class. I knew I had to have one! The rear sight is adjustable, but I did not need to adjust. (Posted on 12/10/2016)

But, the magazine disconnect is a law enforcement tool in a wrestling match over pistol control and has no purpose on a 22 unless you're training with it. Thousands of rounds through it with no gun malfunctions. (Posted on 8/28/2016)

Sweet shooting gun. I also had some misfeeds, however I did replace the plastic guide rod assembly for a stainless steel
one and the replacement spring may not be as strong as the original. Fun to shoot, not much recoil and pretty accurate. (Posted on 8/25/2016)

My first Ruger was a 22 convertible single six that I bought in 1969 and this 22 has all the quality and dependability that I have come to appreciate from Ruger. It is very light weight and I love the feel of it. The different grip options are a real plus for any size hand. The slide racks very easily, so a smaller person would not have any issues with this gun. Oh ya, it is very accurate too! (Posted on 7/28/2016)

This gun is fun to shoot, handles well, pretty accurate. I have had a number of miss-feeds, but am hoping that fades away as it gets broken in. Bought a second one and may buy a third... depends on how it acts after the break-in period. (Posted on 6/5/2016)

After owning this hand gun for awhile now. After about 1000 rounds it developed a extraction issue with every type ammo I've put in it. About 1 out of 3 cycles the gun will not extract casings. super annoying. Gun handles well feels nice in the hand but quality is less than I've come to expect from ruger. (Posted on 5/4/2016)

Bought it on sale and even at that price it is way too expensive. Extra mags are around $33 also way to high. Almost sent it in the first day, could not get the safety to go to fire position. Something ain't right about that. But us sheeple are buying anything we can no matter how much gouging is going on (Posted on 4/17/2016)

Another Great Value from Ruger Review by Hoosier Hunter

I have shot my SR-22 for about 2 years now. So far I've put around 500 rounds through it and find it a real pleasure to shoot. I love the adjustable rear sight, light weight, and ambidextrous magazine drop. It is hard to find a south paw friendly pistol even today. This is my go-to gun when I take wilderness walks with my family. I use a fobus paddle holster and am vey content with the setup. The trigger could be better, but it is an SR-22, not a MK3. It has chewed up every ammo that I've fed it, fits my medium hands well, and the decocker is a nice feature for putting the gun back into double action. Add a silencer to the threaded version for a really fun shooting experience! It is an all around solid value from a great American company. (Posted on 1/14/2016)

I fired 50 rounds of CCI standard velocity and 50 Remington JHP through it on the 1/1/16. I only had one not fire but it fired on the 2nd try. I don't think I'd carry it every day but it's a good gun to practice with. (Posted on 1/2/2016)

I bought this gun at Rural King in Leesburg Fl. when I saw it on sale and have never looked back. What a well made gun, easy to clean, and easy to teach others to use. I truly can't find fault with it. The price was more than great with the "RK rebate" that went with it.
It has a lot of the features my 9mm 92FS & PX4 have such as the safety & de-cocker system. Fit & finish is on target to say the least.
The people at Rural King were very nice and very helpful. Anyone wanting a quality & safe 22lr pistol, you need to try this! (Posted on 11/5/2015)
