Cheap carry gun Review by Lifehiker

The price of this little piece of Ruger is hard to beat, therefore, it's cheap. Most might not expect much from it being exactly that. Cheap. This weapon shoots just fine, my experience sending four hundred rounds down range I'm comfortable saying it's now my confident ankle gun. That being said, I live in Florida, high humidity all the time it seems. I've owned this weapon for less then seven months and have enough rust built up on this weapon to make me a little sick. It spends most of it's time in a humidity controlled safe and brought out when I don't feel like carrying one of my Springfield's. So it has never been abused or carried in inclimate weather. No scratches, meticulously cleaned and oiled like a savant, and is babied just like the rest of my weapons. Yet here we are, just shy of seven months and my slide, mag release button, safety, and spring are rusting literally under my lubricant which is used on every firearm I own. It's rusting in a safe with a variety of weapons some older than the idea of a automatic reloading weapons. So to that extent, I'm not very pleased. I will be sanding and oven baking a cerakote on all these parts, but almost disappointed that Ruger would produce something that can't handle humid environments. Unless they expect folks to use packing grease and store in it's own separate chamber I'm lost. Maybe I got a lost cause, and by no means will this keep me from purchasing another product from them, but besides being a cheap true shooter, this little pistol isn't a perfect example of the brand. The magazines aren't the greatest with anything over 124gr. and there are a few failures to feed. Galloway Precision makes a stainless steel guide rod and upgraded spring that may remedy this problem. overall it is a good purchase. (Posted on 7/26/2018)

Put a laser sight on it but only using that for grip stability now. Factory sights are accurate, just need to add white out or fluorescent paint to show contrast in low light situations. Nice feel, easy trigger, no problems. Added rubber pistol grip as well. It is what I was looking for. (Posted on 7/23/2018)
My New Concealed Carry Review by Steven

I expect Ruger to always produce outstanding firearms. The ECP is no exception. This piece runs like a sewing machine on all types of ammo. I've put 2500 rounds through it without a single hiccup. It is extremely accurate and comfortable to carry, conceal and shoot. I've made it my new concealed carry and retired my 9mm SIG Sub-Compact.

Rural King's Kokomo Gun Barn is excellent too. (Posted on 7/22/2018)

The gun operated flawlessly. Very accurate from 10 yards. I would have given it 5 stars but the magazine that came with it is very hard to load. I could get 6 rounds in it with a struggle. Maybe the magazine is defective, I'll get another one and see if it works out. But a great gun. (Posted on 7/15/2018)

I already had a LC9 2 for Pocket carry, and it was a direct influence on my decision to buy this gun. The trigger is light and short, a real pleasure to shoot. 200 rounds thru it, not a single fail in sight. Doing business with Rural King is always a pleasure, too. (Posted on 6/30/2018)

I can always depend on any Ruger firearm I own. The Ruger EC9s is no exception. I get better accuracy at 25 yards than I expected. Easy to carry concealed. When I carry this is usually the one I pick up. The other is also a Ruger. (Posted on 6/28/2018)

Took it to range. At 30 yards placed all rounds in 12 x 12 inch target using 4 magazines. I then fired my weapon without using sights, as one would if attacked. Placed 70% in 12 x 12" . At 15' where one qualifies for a CCL, all were placed in the 12 x 12" target. Using the sights at that range and rapid fire all were placed within 3 inner circles. The perp would be dead. I love this gun. (Posted on 5/1/2018)

Good gun for the money Review by TMoney

I have put about 500 rounds through the gun. The only issues were the extra pro mag magazine did not like to feed the seventh round of the aluminum or steel case cheap range ammo. The all black sights were not friendly with my 50+ year old eyes so I put a small amount of white rustolium paint on the front and back sights with a toothpick. Now it was white dot sights and much easier to pick up. The only issue on why it did not get a five on quality is that this has been my every day carry for two months and a light amount of surface rust has appeared by the slide near the stricker cover. So now I make sure and wipe the gun down with oil every few days. This gun has an amazing trigger and fits very well in my hand. I am considering getting a laser sight. Shoots almost as well as my Sig 938 at 1/3 the price. I highly recommend this gun. You get a lot for the money. (Posted on 4/8/2018)

Wow, I was really surprised with the quality, accuracy and value of the Ruger EC9s. Owning several LC9 and LC9s. I was expecting the EC9s to be a cheap gun, man I was wrong. The EC9s lives up to Rugers quality again. I shot about 200 rounds through it at our local indoor range. The gun is dead on at 10 yards. The black fixed sights work ok in normal light. If that seems to be an issue for you the EC9s is perfect canidate for a laser... paid $209.00 fantastic!!! Ruger keep turning out your high quality and new or improved products and you have me as a life time owner. (Posted on 4/4/2018)

I was interested in the Ruger LC9S when I looked at the new EC9S. I put them side by side and held them both and they look identical. It's practically the same gun with different sites (non adjustable integral). The price was so reasonable and saved me so much money I bought it, even though I saw very few customer reviews due to the fact that it is a new product.. I am really glad I trusted my own instincts and bought one!. It shoots great, looks good, feels good and conceals easily, reliable and it is accurate! As usual, my local Rural King is a terrific place to purchase a gun for price and knowledge at the counter. (Posted on 2/24/2018)

I've been looking at 9mm pistols for about a year. I hadn't seen anything I really wanted, but I wasn't in a hurry. I read several reviews on youtube about the Ruger LC9s and was interested. They were bragging on the trigger pull being especially nice. I saw the Ruger EC9s being reviewed and decided that was the one I was going to purchase. It is the same as the LC9s except without the adjustable rear sight. I really like the trigger pull. It is lighter ,steady and crisp.I have only put a few rounds thru it, but can tell I'm going to be happy with it.I would recommend it to someone looking for a medium size 9mm with a nice trigger pull (Posted on 2/20/2018)

The pistol functions fine and has a good trigger for the price. The safety is hard to set but releasing it is not a problem. I can see it being finicky about ammunition as the striker doe not dent the primers very much, I did have a few misfires in 100 rounds with cheaper ammunition. As for accuracy it is good for the size of pistol it is, I had no problems keeping the group under 1 inch a 7 yards with any to the ammunition I fire, and the group were all pretty much point of aim. I really liked the price and believe it is a good value for the money. (Posted on 2/8/2018)
