Great entry level pistol Review by Jay

As a revolver fan, I may be slightly biased. But at under $300 for a 6 shot
sub- compact revolver, I'm in.
Pros: Price, 6 shot capacity, stout construction, excellent customer service
Cons: Bit heavy for conceal carry, finish seems a bit cheap, speed loaders will not fit with larger grips on the pistol
*HMS- DS six shot speed loader works great with stock wood grips or a narrow style ergo group. (Posted on 9/20/2017)

Took this gun to the range 3 times, each time I had more trouble getting it to fire. I finally contacted the manufacturer and sent it back. At first I thought it was the ammunition but that wasn't the case. It would (maybe) fire the 1st round and wouldn't rotate, and then I couldn't open it to get out the ammunition. Sent it back a couple of weeks ago...waiting on a word. So I placed Taurus PT111 in layaway and will get it out EOM and get acquainted with it for my CCW. That's why I bought the 38... Great little gun. Review by Grizzly1981

I recently brought one of these after my wife "adopted" my Ruger LCR as her CCW gun. The over all quality of the M206 was pretty good. I like the parkerized finish on firearms so that was a plus. The double action trigger pull is very smooth and has minimal stacking. Single action is very crisp. I took it to the range and put 200 rounds through it with out a problem. The cylinder had no play in it when latched in place. All in all I am very pleased with the M206. It comes in a nice plastic case with a lock, two test fired cartridges, owners manual, combat style replacement grips and the standard gun safety brochures. (Posted on 5/6/2017)

This is the first revolver I've owned, of the 50+ guns I have. That being said I don't have anything to compare it to, but it goes bang when I pull the trigger every time. The quality seems to be equivalent to the price I paid for it. I'm a happy customer so far. (Posted on 3/22/2017)

Bought two. Arrived. One was real nice otherone was not as nice. Could see some grind marks. Not so pretty. But you can't by a 38 for 209.00 anywhere. So I guess it's not to bad. I would by at least one again. (Posted on 3/4/2017)

Took 4 weeks to get my gun back. It now has a black cylinder so it doesn't match the rest of gun anymore. Also there are scratces to the finish where they took it apart. The good news is I took it to the range today and shoot 200 rounds flawlessly. It shoots great. The bad news is my new gun looks like it was peiced togeter from 2 different guns .As long as it keeps shooting I will live withe the cosmetics. I'll shoot a couple hundred more rounds and let you know. (Posted on 1/22/2017)
GARBAGE Review by dan7748

Took this gun to the range today and to say I was disapointed is an understatement. Less than 50 rounds and the gun jams up and will not fire. Yes it was cleaned before shooting it and yes I used the armscor ammo. Can't even give it 5 stars on price because 239 is expensive for a paper weight. Now I have to send it back for repair and have zero confidence it will be fixed because I keep reading on line that you have to send it back multiple times before its right. All the time and money I will have to spend sending it back and forth I should have spent more money on a Smith or a Ruger. (Posted on 12/18/2016)
Great shooter Review by MrGuy

It is a snub nose so dont expect super accuracy the farther you go out. When i first got it it was coated in oil - no big deal supposed to clean new guns before shooting anyways. That cleaned out alot of grit/junk and made everything much smoother. The casing removal plunger was very gritty feeling and would hang up until I cleaned it. SA it is a very light trigger pull, DA is a bit tougher but can feel the sweet spot where it becomes easier again right be fore it goes bang. Fired 50 rounds thru it so far with zero issues. Smooth action and kept them all in an 8" circle on a paper plate target at 15 yards - im not the best shot in the world so im sure its better than that in the right hands. Sights are easy to see and line up. I do have big hands so the wood grip while it looks oh so good on the gun isnt the easiest to hold on to, the plastic grip that came with it is much "beefier" and easier on the hands. I did fire this gun with winter gloves on (was 22*F when i went to the outdoor range) and could easily do so and still maintain accuracy. Also fired it without gloves to give that a shot and actually felt easier with the gloves... It was on sale when I got mine and for around the $200-250 mark for a NEW gun i am very happy. Cant even begin to touch a USED S&W for that price. As of the time of this review RKGuns was the cheapest around and they had it in stock, ordered on a Saturday but didnt ship till Thursday from a store about 2 hours away... I called RKGuns customer number Wed to see what the status of my order was and said they were behind as apparently they only have a few people that can handle FFL stuff. So if your OK with waiting about a week before your gun ships to save a few bucks its worth it. I was able to pick it up from my FFL on Saturday even though the tracking number said Monday delivery - on well haha.

Comes in a nice hard plastic case, plastic grips, manual, cable type gunlock, and 2 test fire casings from the factory. (Posted on 12/12/2016)

Overall Great Experience Review by Major Dad

I bought mine five days ago and took her to the range yesterday. This was an unbeatable value at less than $200, so I just couldn't say no. The moving parts were very tight, but not binding, when I took her out of the box. I recommend giving a thorough cleaning and light lube before firing. At the range I fired 150 rounds of Remington UMC 230 grain FMJ with never a hiccup. RIA recommends a break-in of 500 rounds, so it will be a real pleasure with this revolver. The sights are easy on the eyes, too. Trigger pull is a bit of a tug, but not excessive for a DA revolver. SA shooting was surprisingly light, almost unnoticeable. Both sets of grips are satisfactory, but the rubber grips make it a bit cumbersome for pocket carry for me. Overall, I'm very satisfied. She's an excellent replacement for my antique Colt snubby.

Also, I gotta give a big High Five to the folks at RK Guns. I got to the store (Bonita Springs FL) five days after the election and the RK Gun shop crew were visibly tired, but in high spirits and very helpful. The entire RK company provided prompt, personalized, friendly and efficient service, right from the moment I ordered the pistol, called customer service for assistance, right thru to the delivery, background check and out the front-door happy camper experience. Kudos! (Posted on 11/18/2016)

Although when I first brought it home, the trigger kept sticking in the back position, and there were times when I couldn't get the button to depress to release the chamber. But after a good cleaning it worked perfect. Easy to handle, easy to shoot, easy to clean, and really good price. At the time of my purchase, it was explained to me that this gun is actually made in the Phillipines, but (get this!) it's made with the old colt equipment. So in essence, you're buying a colt! Update to review: Definitely recommend Pachmayr Finger Grips. Feel nice and little recoil. Shot with plastic grips it came with. While good, not as much grip and texture as Pachmayr's. One of my favorite guns now. Shot about 100 rounds through it. Factory said all Armscor +P rated after break in period of 500 rounds. Thanks (Posted on 6/21/2016)

1 Good, 1 Faulty Review by mtcan

I bought two of these at one purchase, one for myself, and one for my wife. They did not come with any rubber grip at the time of my purchase which was in Nov 2014. Subsequently, I bought a Pachmayr grip from Amazon which was an incredible improvement. Even though I have relatively small hands, the wood grip that came with it was just too small for me, given the size of the rest of the gun. With the Pachmayr Grips For Colt Detective-special size "D-Inchframe, Post 1971 Revolvers" it was a whole new and better gun, but therefore too big for concealment as well, in my opinion. Anyway, the one I had and took to the firing range works just fine, and with cocking the hammer, the single-action mode is very light, the double action is fine also but my accuracy isn't as steady. Lastly, the other gun anticipated for my wife, turned out to have a slipping cylinder and for some reason would not lock and could swing open, until the first shot was fired. After the first shot, it was locked in, but that really bothers me and I have yet to inquire of Rock Island on a solution as I basically just learned of it. I would buy it for the utility of it and price, but only if I could reliably verify the working order of it in the store. (Posted on 3/14/2016)

Not sure if I didn't read the description correctly but the gun came in a very nice plastic case with a lock and an extra set of grips. I wanted a firearm that would go bang every time I fired it. I wasn't concerned about weight or finish as this gun was to be kept in my truck. I was surprised on all counts. Finish and quality was above my expectations for a low priced firearm. Ran over 100 rounds of all types of ammunition with no issues at all. A great value on a budget priced firearm. Would buy again with no reservations. (Posted on 3/7/2016)

Be very careful with this gun. I bought a M200 and is a great working gun!! That it convinced me to get a M206 and I did. The M206 came with a trigger locking problem that happens everyone it shoots! Compare to my M200 with tight trigger the M206 has a loose one. I send it to Armscor and 3 weeks later the send it back with the same defective problem!?!?!? They agree to refund my money back. So be careful! Not all of the are bad just mine! I'm upset the Armscor took me for fool and not fix the problem. (Posted on 1/24/2016)
SIX OVER FIVE Review by Tom Homer

I bought the Model 206 at the Rural King's Martinsville, Indiana store more or less on a whim - it was on a special sale and I looked at it and thought, ummmm - I like this and especially the price! I took it to the range several days later, after thoroughly cleaning it, and was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy and had no malfunctions of any kind. I used both new and old and varied brands of .38 Special ammo and the revolver worked beautifully. It is a little heavy for concealed carry but I bought it strictly as a night stand weapon and that works for me. I have six shots instead of five that you find on most snubbies these days. The cylinder locks up tight and it has a smooth trigger pull with a crisp let-off. It appears to be built like a tank, also. The only down side is the wood grips that comes with this gun is small - I ordered their larger plastic type grip and that solved that problem. On the range I was holding fairly tight groups with it at 20 yards free hand putting the shots well within a persons chest area shooting fast double action and tighter groups in single action, Happy trails. The gun I bought came with two grips (the wood grip and a larger black grip with finger grooves). The muzzle flip and recoil are exactly what you would expect from a 38 snobby. I like the weight because it does help minimize felt recoil just a bit. No failures of any kind so far and I have fired several rounds through this gun. (Posted on 10/26/2015)
