The pistol jammed the first time I tried to fire it. Cleared the chamber and it fired twice, and then jammed again. Next time I only put six bullets in the magazine and it fired six times without jamming. (Posted on 9/14/2018)

Guys,
I just completed re certification for armed guard training.
I fired behind 10 young men qualifying for their armed guard certification...
I fired last.. these men was watching me shoot..
I destroyed the X section in the target...
50 of 50 rounds and nothing out side of the 9 section..
I'm well satisfied with my c 9 ..
It was competition but all were impressed.
If you want a great pistol.. at a great price..
You can't beat High Point Arms.
I was shooting Fan's, and I told the guys if I had hollow points.... I could drive nails.. lol
Buy one, do what the instructions say. Clean it, light oil it, adjust your Kentucky bondage, and your Tennessee elevation.... and show um what's up!!!

I've had one of these for 3 years, fired 1000 rounds through it easily. Threw a little oil in it, kept on firing. Never had a FTE or FTF. I have a .45 and a .380 also. Both Hi Points. Excellent pistols, accurate right out of the box. (Posted on 7/20/2018)

I got this pistol about 7 years ago when I was broke and needed a pistol. Like the summary says, it's ugly as sin but I've never had an issue with it firing when I need it. I wish the mags were bigger, but it is what it is. I wouldn't try to conceal it (!) but it's a good gun to keep in the glove box. Good deal for the money. (Posted on 7/14/2018)
Thanks Again RK Guns! Review by Destroyer of Worlds

RK Guns Elyria is the 'go to' resource for all things gun and gun related. I have purchased both the Hi-Point .45 Pistol and the carbine chambered in 9mm. I can't stress enough how much I dislike the former but really like the latter. The pistols are heavy, virtually impossible to disassemble and aesthetically, umm, well, terrible. The one positive about the pistols is that they generally go 'bang' when you pull the (ergonomically challenging) trigger. I write 'generally' because in my experience they jam 1 out of 20 shots on average. Have fun clearing an FTE, if you even can. Now contrast that with the Hi-Point Carbines, which are dependable (they, like your mom, eat anything), aesthetically pleasing and just plain fun to shoot. If you have one, you know what I mean. If my HP carbine was my manhood and compliments was trim (and there were any ladies at the range), I'd be knee deep in trim with all the compliments I get on my HP 9 mm carbine I procured (with great service) from RK Guns Elyria. I won't buy my guns anywhere other then RK Guns! (Posted on 4/26/2018)
Jammed 6 times in 30 minutes Review by JT Widmer

When it’s firing correctly, I like it. But it jammed 6 times on in 85 shots it’s first time out of the box, and the trigger resulted in no shot probably another 5 times and I had to nudge the slider forward a hair to fix that. Not reliable but I don’t hate it. I’ll stick to revolvers though. (Posted on 4/21/2018)

Purchased this 9mm and fired over 100 rounds thus far with zero jambs, misfires, etc. I watched a You Tube video of someone that put this gun through so many rugged tests like throwing it in water, putting pond slime in the chamber, running it over with his truck and even shooting it with another gun that put a big ding in the side of od chamber and after each time this gun continued to fire without any mishaps! I’m a fan (Posted on 1/12/2018)

Bought this piece, took it home, did as directed. Cleaned it , oiled it lightly, took it to the range. Shot low at first. Adjusted the rear sight.... I can drive nails with it.
Took it to qualify for my armed guard permit and the instructor was commenting on my grouping. Now me and c9 ant pretty, but we are trustworthy.
I am sold on High Point Fire arms...

I have owned my High Point 9mm for about 15yrs and paid $125.00 brand new for it. I have shot 1000's of round thru it, never once has this gun jammed. People rag on it alot. But when they get a jam or miss fire with the expensive guns they are using i just chuckle and keep firing. It has saved my butt a few times against wild hogs. I do own several other brands and like them also, but if your looking for a inexpensive good pistol this is it. (Posted on 6/8/2017)

This is a BUG....a big ugly gun...but it shoots well and is very durable. I like that it is made in Ohio. If you can't hit anything with this gun, you are not trying, and if you don't hit anything with this gun, throw it them. It would at least knock them out. All kidding aside, it is a fine firearm (Posted on 4/2/2017)

I have both the 9mm and 380. They are both excellent. A little bulky but shoots great. My 11 year old shoots them both. I carry the 9mm. A little hard to conceal. We were able to hit coke cans at over 50 yards so it's really accurate. I wish the trigger was a little lighter but you get used to it (Posted on 2/8/2017)

I have the C9 9mm and the 45 as well as the 995TS Carbine. All work great. I'll say more about the C9 since this is the one being talked about. This is my firearm I have in my glove box and is easy to get at while home. This thing shoots everything. I have and have had several more expensive firearms that don't shoot any better. Yea, a little heavy but, they work. Hi-Point doesn't claim they compete with Glocks, etc., but they put out something that works and their warranty is excellent.
Concealed carry? I've done it but, not usually. Thats what I have a SCCY and Diamondback 380 for. Some Gun people just don't like the fact that Hi points work since they paid way more for whatever they have. (Posted on 1/27/2017)

After looking at all of the reviews on this gun (Good and Bad): I decided to buy one. Just ran 100 rounds thru it and no issues. A bit heavy, but I like a heavy gun. Shoots great! I was right on target. Handles Great at a very nice price..... By the way, the staff at RK is super. The Bonita Springs team is professional and I will make my next gun purchase there. Planning on another one soon to bring in the new year. (Posted on 12/8/2016)

Bought the C9 for my wife took her to the range had issues with it feeding, the slide not resetting all the way had to hit back of the slide on some and had a few stove pipes but was told that the springs were tight since brand new and the more rounds fired it would be fine. Here's hoping so! I bought the 40 and didn't have any firing issues except 95% of my shots were low and left but had great groupings so will adjust sights! Great guns for folks on budget!! I bought for conceal carry. I picked the 9mm based on price, which I usually don't do. I'm very pleased with results. It jammed once in the first 30 rounds, but it was operator error, she did not pull back all the way to load it, so when she pulled again it double loaded. Other than that, at 20 yards it shot about an inch down and to the left. Very impressive for way less than $200. Like most reviews state, it is heavier than most , but evens out nicely when loaded. Don't be fooled by the price or name. This pistol shoots just fine and has never jammed on me or anything once and I've put many rounds through it (owned for 4 years). I shot side x side with someone shooting a glock 9mm at 20 yards and had the same spacing. A lot of people will trash the Hi Point name and laugh at the price, all I can say is their loss and they've never fired one. Great gun. (Posted on 6/18/2016)

I got a Hi-Point C9 9mm about a year ago for personal protection. It is quite heavy for a 9mm gun, compared to a Glock or a S&W. However, since I am a bigger guy I can conceal it very easily. First thing you will notice about the C9 is it's price. Cheap! Many people hate these guns, but I find the hate unjustified. I have fired over 300 rounds through my C9 and have had 1 issue (my friend fired and it limp wrist it, causing it to not fed correctly). I would say this gun is a great introduction to personal carry and or handgun training. Hi-Point also has a Life Time Warranty for the Hi-Point firearms. No matter if you are the first or fifth owner of the firearm. You simply can't beat that kind of warranty nowadays. (Posted on 4/12/2016)

After years without weapons, I chose the C9 for a concealed carry class. While it is heavy, it's built like a tank. It's accurate and true. I am extremely pleased with this unit. I won't carry it that much so I don't mind a few extra ounces. I use it in my business to protect my employees. I never have to worry about it's readiness. I am currently looking to buy the TS carbine because I have seen the quality in Hi Point products. I am the president of a Tool and Die Manufacturing firm and I can see the solid base that this unit was designed from. (Posted on 4/6/2016)

I bought my high-point a couple of years ago and it fires great! The only problem I had was shells not ejecting properly but that was from shooting aluminum casing shells and not cleaning it afterward. Have been told by some that its only good as a club because of its weight, but I say they need to try one because it shoots great and accurate. For the price its the best value on the market and it comes with a lifetime guarantee which passes on to the next owners if you get rid of it. I don't know of any other gun manufacturer who does that. (Posted on 1/16/2016)
