This is the best value for a quality handgun I can find. Taurus has a bad reputation for certain guns, but this one is NOT it. This gun shoots perfect for me. Lakeline LLC has a great article about where to apply grease to fix the gritty trigger. I also installed their stainless recoil spring assembly. And installed Truglo tfx pro sights. All upgrades my buddy's do to their Glocks. End up spending $300 less then them and I feel it shoots just as reliably and well. I have over 1000 rounds through it. It has jammed a total of 5 times for me. 3 were in the beginning by shooter error. I wasn't holding the gun properly and bummed the magazine release causing the mag to slide down and cause the jam. The other 2 were random fail to ejects using Winchester white box. That ammo is not always perfect and could have been a ammo issue. I have been extremely impressed with this gun, and I feel you will be as well. (Posted on 6/20/2017)

Bought this a few months ago for cc suits my hand size just fine. Very accurate at 25 yards and easy to sight in. You will need to adjust to the trigger pull but after the first 10 to 15 rounds it will feel much smoother. Carries canceled very comfortably especially while driving. My only complaint is with the mag release button which came apart on me several times. Don't want to condemn the overall gun for this problem but had to send it back for this warranty repair which I'm sure Taurus can correct. (Posted on 5/15/2017)

Once you are used to the sites very accurate even at double the distance you should shoot with this short of barrel,50 feet 6" groups. Note that other double stack mags also will fit this gun just like the Taurus 24/7 magazine I would consider it a very versatile pistol and its accuracy per dollar very much worth it I would highly recommend this gun (Posted on 5/7/2017)

So far, not one single problem with this handgun. I shot just over 3,000 rounds in four months at an indoor range with no issues. Accuracy is acceptable once you get used the sights. Bought 2 of them, price and rebate= score! Took them to Range and ran 500 rounds through each one clearing every 50-100 rounds very accurate and smooth, on one no adjustment the other very little! I had read about the long trigger break and the plastic spring recoil, so as a precaution I went to Lakeline LLC and ordered 2 kits one for each one 30 bucks each just to be safe, so far so good! And I will keep a watchful eye on the spring in case it jumps the plastic! Trigger is Not a issue for me as some people find it very long. I carry everyday and the PT111 is one of the underdogs out there to watch out for! If you can get one before sellout or price goes up! And if your into firearms you will see what I mean! Around here Michigan/Florida, stores and Gun shows can't keep them on the shelves, tables they sell out very, very quickly! Just my 2 cents,Have fun and be Safe!! Thanks! (Posted on 4/16/2017)

Once you get used to the unusual trigger this is an amazing gun. I shoot mine back to back with an M&P Shield 9, and I am able to be more accurate with this gun, and repeatedly. Mags are difficult to load, which led me to the Uplula universal mag loader. Problem solved. Zero issues with my gun. Shoots and shoots well against the Shield (which I also do like). Broken after 90 rounds, sent it in to shop in Jan.2017(see my first post), haven't seen it since. Their service seems awful. the status web site is never updated, and you are only allowed to talk to a phone customer service center that seems to know almost nothing about your side arms repair status other than they have it. I will never trust it for C/C now (if I ever get it back), and certainly will never purchase another Taurus side arm. (Posted on 3/14/2017)

I bought this pistol Gen 2, also have the first one (g1). This is stricker fire but I fine the trigger has extremely too much travel and reset. Travel is too long and it feels as though you never hit the break at which is too firm. Reset is also too long. Shoots well, not too much recoil and fed well. For a fun range firearm it's ok. But no way would I use it for a cc. I'll stick to my Glocks, Sigs, Springfield for cc and home defense. If u are fund limited, I would select the ruger LC9s for a better cc firearm in which I also carry for great concealment and reliable. (Posted on 3/13/2017)

I thought when I ordered this pistol, that it was going to be a little larger than I wanted, but it was perfect! I was so impressed with the looks and feel of the gun. The added plus were the two clips provided that hold 12 rounds each, the safety lock and wrench for adjusting the sights, which all came in a nice velvet pouch! Ended up purchasing this instead of a Ruger LC9s because it felt better in my hands and carries 12 in the mag (and comes with two). Took it to the range today for the first time. Put 150 rounds through it, a combination of WWB and CCI Blazer, with no failures. It seems to shoot low out of the box. But I'll work with it some more before adjusting the sites as I think I need some more time to get used to the trigger. Broke it down for cleaning when I came home, which was very easy. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, especially for the price. (Posted on 2/18/2017)

I don't think I can trust this as my carry pistol. This is a re-review after about 1000 rds. This gun doesn't seem to like wwb at all. Constant failure to eject. Same with Federal 115 grain. I haven't ran a whole lot of expensive ammo through it because it's expensive. From what little I have ran seems to do well. It doesn't like 115 grain ammo for some reason. It runs 124 grain ball and jhp without any problems so far, but time will tell. Also my magazines seem to want to fall out due to my super human pinky strength. All of my mags have a little wiggle to them (I have 3. No aftermarket.) My pinky pushes back on them and after a few shots I have to pop them back up. I've only had this firearm 2 months and I'm growing more disappointed with it every time I get it out. Shame I had high hopes for it too. (Posted on 1/17/2017)

Bought it because it got me a ccw cheap but after 300 rounds the quality is showing. It does not like MaxxTech ammo which is a shame because it is cheap also. Mag release fell out. They did send new metal one "free of charge since is a new gun", well I would hope so with lifetime warranty. Mag doesn't fit in tight so it doesn't pick up round every once in while which gets annoying. Accuracy is good and I like the safety on it. Hidesight thou, I would have saved up few hundred more for something bit better. (Posted on 1/16/2017)

Good overall experience but should have opted to have the guns shipped to my local ffl dealer their system of checking in guns after they are delivered to the store is painfully slow and is only done by 2 people who apparently only work 2-3 hours a day. Out of the box I felt this was a good gun. I have some experience with other manufacturers and while not an expert I do have a good sense of what a good gun should be. Trigger is a bit long on the pull but it's only an issue if u don't train with the gun often and get used to it. Which is something you should do with any gun you use. The bottom rear of the slide has two really sharp edges so you have to watch that when disassembling and the plastic ejector spring guide I plan to replace some time in the near future. Other than those minor things the gun fires nicely and consistently and carries very well in the waistband. Highly recommended this gun at the current price point. (Posted on 12/12/2016)

This firearm is a great purchase for anyone. I Have several Taurus firearms and have never been disappointed. The PT111 shoots better and more accurate than any other subcompact I have tried. The updates on the G2 models are comparable to the G26. The new grips could put talon grips out of business. Great gun and half the price of comparable models. RKguns has the best price I have found so far also......With that said. My purchase experience was horrible. First I live in IL so there is that. Waiting 10 days for a gun I paid $9.99 shipping on and after an employee told me about eight pt111s from the store i had it shipped to had been sold since my purchase was a joke (I was told the next one to come in was automatically to take the place of the shipped gun....This was not true). After the 10 day wait on the shipped gun I had a three day wait for the pistol and a FOID background check(normal). Except the person doing the paperwork messed up the numbers for my FOID( I passed the background check because the numbers were put in the computer correctly). When i called RKguns directly to question what had happened I was actually asked why i didnt want to go through another backgound check and what was my hurry......like I was a criminal. Thanks Jill. After discovering I was correct and the employee was at fault I was given a $20 gift card for being talked to like I was a criminal. Anyway had to wait another three days because of Rural Kings mistakes. 17 days overall waiting get the pistol after paying for it immediately. Find a place that does price match and stay clear of RKguns is my best advice. (Posted on 12/12/2016)

Been eyeing it for a while waiting for it to be on sale. When it was I jumped on it. Had problems day 1 with federal aluminum. It kept failure to eject on the first couple in the magazine(shot 250 on day 1). A week later after cleaning the grease out of the magazine and leaving them sit loaded I went out again. Not a single issue. I put 300 rounds that day using several types of ammo. This thing shoots awesome. Feels good in the hand. Not to big or small just right. I had been looking for another gun so my wife and I could take the concealed carry class together. I have a .45 and a 9mm so I started my search and I came across this Taurus. I started researching the gun and reading reviews and product info and the more I read the more I was becoming sold on this gun. I went to my local rural king to look at it but they were out. I had some good luck though, the sales person I was talking too owns the gun and we talked about it. She told How's this for easy to understand?
Op's are open to be hit except alliances that don't hit op's and NEVER ON RNR'S. In the beginning, check with leadership before hitting any op. All reports must be forwarded for op hits, that way we are all in the loop? If our op's are hit you can hit theirs back, just let a leader know so we can plan for blow back. We also need to be sure you understand that you need to fortify your own ops with defense because they are targets now! The same goes for your castellans, castellan strength is just as important as troops numbers, they are looking for weak casts to hit.e the features, how good it shoots etc and how much she likes it over her more expensive guns. I bought it online and brought it home when it came in. I cleaned it up, loaded it and took it out to my range I have out back and ran a few clips worth of bullets through it. I was and am impressed, it's smooth and shoots great and you can't beat the price! (Posted on 11/25/2016)
Perfect carry gun for me Review by Todd

This is a great firearm at a great price. I took a gamble on it vs a ruger sr9c and, other than less capacity, I like it better. Better trigger and grip for my wide but short hands. Have fired 250 rounds of target ammo of all kinds from hot shot to remington and federal no problems. Have also tried 4 kinds of hollow point defense ammo and not one hiccup. I feel confident enough that I carry this more than my snub revolver. It's very reliable, feeds better with HP than both of my 1911s and I can carry it IWB with basketball shorts without it pulling my clothes off lol.

Cloned after a much more expensive Blockey gun this has a lot more features. Higher capacity, finger rest mag, thumb safety, chambered round indicator, firearm disable key lock, milled slide, melted edges, and textured grips. Many people say the trigger is a negative. Trigger is fine just a much longer pull feel than most. upgrading your guide rod and springs help this " internet search for upgrade". This gun is very dependable accurate eats anything and i literally punched a 3 inch hole with 12 rounds at 15 feet. 250 rounds my first time out no failures. I expect good things out of this gun.

Sweet Compact Handgun Review by FiredUp81

I am one that reads all the reviews I can find before I make such a large purchase. This one was not different. I read hours of reviews from every site I could find and they all pretty much said the same thing. I am a glock man as this is all I own, but this gun is for my daughter. I wanted to get her a great gun but not spend the money for a glock. After shooting this pistol I want one for myself now.

Now to my review, this gun is a sweet gun, it is very lite and it has very little kick back. I had no mishaps or issues with it and I do not foresee me having any. It appears to be built very good and a solid gun. The only thing people talk about is the trigger pull. It is different, but by no means is it bad. Once you get use to it, and it only takes a few shots to do so, I have no issue at all. The trigger pull is a smooth pull, it does have some travel but not enough to give it a bad review. I have nothing bad to say at all about this gun. If you are looking for a solid built smooth shooting gun this is the one. For the price you can not in my opinion find a better gun, or cheaper one for the same price for that fact. I am a big guy and my hands had no issue with griping the pistol, it felt good. Look no further this is a great gun.

Very reliable everyday carry pistol. It chews any ammo I feed through it without a hitch. Mine was spot on target out of the box. The grip material is different than most I've seen. Different in a good way, almost like sandpaper. The PT111 is well balanced and it fits my hand like a glove. The pinky extension on the mag is awesome. The trigger took some getting used to. The 1st shot you really have to pull back before it breaks but after that it has a very short reset. I actually like it. I have medium hands and stubby fingers. This gun is becoming very popular and difficult to find at the low price point RK is asking. I waited a month or so before they got another shipment and it took less than a week for delivery to Leesburg, FL. The folks there were great to deal with. (Posted on 9/4/2016)

Just put 150 rounds through it at the range and I'm more than happy with it. Accurate and never one issue. Some people don't like the trigger but I thought it was fine. Received my PT111 as a new concealed carry, after a friend bragged on his. Although I haven't fully tested it on the firing range, it is a well built and compact 9mm. Even with the new silverback defense rounds, it is still very light, and it conceals nicely. It does have a long trigger pull, which will be fixed next week, and the slide is quite stiff. I am sure it will break in with enough rounds down range. Thumbs up!! (Posted on 8/29/2016)

First 200+ rounds thru the gun this morning. 115 gr, 124 gr, P, and +P, and 4 various brands of hollow point. Gun shot great, no issues at all. I like the trigger it works for me. Sights don't adjust that well, hitting just left of center, even after making a few adjustments. I'm going to compare the PT111 to my S&W Shield. Very close in size and ease of firing. Shield a little narrower, but the PT111 has the extra round capacity, which I like having. Just my luck a week after picking mine up they go on sale for $20.00 less. Well worth the money. I just purchased this hand gun as it was in my price range and felt good in my hand. The grip is amazing. The recoil is not bad either for a smaller hand gun and I am a woman and its managable for me. The only thing is it has a long trigger pull which takes some getting use to, deffinitly not a hair trigger. Other than that no complaints. Its a nice hand gun that fits in anyones budget. I have had mine for 9 months with 700 rounds of various brands of ammo. I had two miss fires when brand new. Now no problems at all. A good conceal carry weapon with the 12+1 rounds. This is my first pistol, but I have shot others and can see no difference from the higher priced similar guns. It goes bang, bullets come out of the end when it is suppose to reliably. What more do you want? A magazine loading device is a good idea. Since it is a double stack it is a little hard to load without hurting your fingers. Comes with two mags, a special key to lock the gun, adjustable rear sights, a front rail for light or laser. The break on the trigger is a little far back, however, not a big deal. I bought this gun to take to a CCW class to get approved. I had previously shot approximately 250 rounds of both 115g and 124 g bullets. These were all shot inside a building in which the temperature was around 70 degrees. There were no problems with the original 250 bullets. I took the gun to the CCW class to be qualified as part of the class. We had to shot 30 rounds, but after 26 rounds the gun would not shot anymore. I had 3 other people try to see whether the problem could be fixed. No, we could not get the gun to fire anymore. The gun was returned to Taurus and it took four (4) months to get the gun back. The trigger safety was the problem but will never feel as good after this problem with a Taurus PT 111 G2. Will take the gun out for another test round in the future. I guess you get the value for what you paid. I did like the gun prior to this problem. (Posted on 5/11/2016)

Got a great deal on this gun at RK. It was only $157 after in-store 3% discount plust 12% RK mail in rebate and $50 Taurus mail in rebate. I'm glad I got it because of the price but the performance has been spotty. I've passed about 200 rounds through it and have had around 10 stove pipes and a half dozen soft strikes. This gun definitely prefers softer primers. Even second and third strikes would fail on certain ammo. Basic hard ball Federal and Winchester white box work good but had a few feeding issues. The mag springs are still very stiff and perhaps this issue will fade as the springs lose tension. The 10 or 12 soft strike rounds were saved and fired fine out of my full size Browning HiPower. If you don't mind its finicky ammo tastes and the stiff mag spring then the Taurus is worth it. Otherwise I might lean towards the SCCY or definitely the EAA B6P or K2P if you don't mind a full size 9mm. (Posted on 3/6/2016)

Had the failure to feed problems the first time at the range. Read up a little and as I suspected the magazine spring were a bit too stiff. Since that day I have left the mags loaded and after 2400 rounds of any ammo it is fed it just keeps on running.

Accuracy is as good as the person firing it and my wife is much better than myself with it. The trigger has a long pull with the first round after loading which is double action. After the the first round the gun is in single action and trigger reset and follow up shots can be done very quickly by just letting up on the trigger a touch. Ours will send rounds down range extremely quickly.

It is my wife's night stand gun with a small light attached to the picattiny rail and we both trust it to get the job done if need be. (Posted on 2/1/2016)

Great gun for the price. Its not a Springfield Armory but Considering the difference in price I would put it right up there. Fired approx 700 rounds through it and had two ftf on the first magazine. After that it ate all the mixed ammo I put through it without a hitch. Cleaned it at 500 rounds though it didn't really need it and kept on shooting. Wish now I would have purchased two when they were on sale. Never considered using it as my concealed carry weapon until I saw it perform. Decided to use it as one of my weapons for carry. Taurus made a winner on this one, I never have been a big Taurus fan but this has convinced me to give them additional tries.
Great sights that are adjustable and after shooting trigger smoothed right up and broke very cleanly. Like the double strike feature. (Posted on 1/26/2016)

While this seems to be a great cc piece I'm still not 100% sure I'm gonna trust it with my life or loved ones lives just yet. 1st 50 rounds had several fail to feeds. I'd love to make this my edc because of the perfect size, but for now I'll be carrying my Glock 19 for complete trust. Really can't beat the price point and lifetime guarantee though. I purchased this gun in November. The price was $199 after a $50 rebate card which I received last week. The gun came in a box with two magazines, and a pair of trigger lock keys. I have a 38 spl. Taurus Revolver and thought that the PT111 would be as good a purchase. However, I now think differently. If I didn't know about Taurus' lifetime guarantee on their guns I would have rated this gun even lower. I will be sending the gun back to the factory. After 300 rounds through the gun I couldn't get through a box of 50 without a jam of some kind.

At first it was horrible, FTF coming up the ramp out of the magazine into the chamber, the jam left the rack slightly open with the round at an angle with the tip of the round in the chamber, I would have to force the rack forward to chamber the round. After reading several articles on several issues with the gun I applied all the advice given; load the magazines full and leave them loaded for two weeks, polish the ramp to chamber, manually ran several hundred rounds, and I disassembled and cleaned the gun several times. At first the FTF was every other round, now it is only about every third magazine but the gun now jams with a failure to eject (FTE) where I have to actually use something to dislodge the spent round from the chamber. Its back to the factory for this PT111 with the hopes I can get more than a range gun out of this. (Posted on 12/29/2015)

Bought my PT111 G2 from RK Guns on sale for $224.99 with a $50 rebate from Taurus, so I got $175 in this gun. It runs flawless with any ammo I have tried, Remington JHP, Hornady Custom 147gr XTP, Blazer Brass etc. It fits in the hand like a glove, very manageable recoil, I would have to light recoil as compared to my other 9mm's Build quality, fit and finish is excellent. Field strip is easy and tool less! Accuracy is as good as you are. I have $1500 guns that don't shoot as good as this gun. I have always shy,ed away from Taurus but the reviews were good and the price was great! So I took a chance on Taurus, and I am very happy I did. I think Taurus has hit a home run with this gun, all I can say is buy it before the prices go up and the word gets out. RK Guns shipped it fast to my store, and the customer service was Great. Fit and finish not nearly as good as a Glock out of box. Needs a little work. Trigger pull was very hard but is easy to fix with a simple trigger job. Requires no disassembly. Sand /polish sear surfaces and all rubbing surfaces with 800 grit sandpaper and a flat stick. Do the same with the slide rails and bottom of the slide. Then slightly throat and blend the barrel. Rack the slide five or six hundred times to break it in. Trigger pull is now excellent,1000% better. Add the $50 rebate and you have an really awesome firearm for $200.

I took this gun to the range yesterday and was very pleased. This firearm comes with adjustable sights (elevation and windage) which makes it even more appealing. It held tight groups at seven and ten yards with very manageable recoil. The trigger takes some getting used to because of its long travel and breaking point but overall a nice gun especially for the price. I would recommend this firearm to anyone for concealed carry. It's a nice size and not too bulky. You won't be disappointed. Taurus is also backed by a lifetime warranty. (Posted on 12/16/2015)

Great gun for the money, outshoots some of my higher priced guns. Several friends have shot it and ended up buying one of their own. It's a low priced gun , not a cheap gun. (Posted on 12/15/2015)

This handgun is equal to many higher priced handguns, and better than some. Fired about 1000 rounds with only 1 or 2 malfunctions. Perfect fit for IWB although I haven't found an ankle holster that works well. Would highly recommend. (Posted on 12/13/2015)

Amazing conceal carry weapon. Shoots flawlessly. Some of the big perks,is the firearm is affordable as it is, but with RK rebates, and then another $50 Taurus rebate, and then a 1 year NRA membership included with the purchase, I almost feel like they are just giving me the firearm.........It is very affordable, but more importantly is it goes bang when I want it to, and the bullet goes where I want it to........Its not a competitor pistol, and isnt designed to be, but I will not hesitate to make this firearm my daily carry and replace my shield as a night stand firearm. Great Gun for a Great Price Review by Jake

After the $50.00 rebate, and including tax, I paid a total of $219.99. Obviously a very popular gun, as I had to call my local store once a day. One day, I went in, and it just so happened that they had received one, so I bought it. So popular that while I was waiting for my BG check, another guy bought it the next day, and I had to sort out the mess by showing my receipt to prove that I had purchased it first. I have no regrets purchasing this gun. I also own a Glock 19, and while the Taurus may be inferior, it is still great quality for the price I paid for it. (Posted on 12/4/2015)

This is a good little carry gun especially for the price. I can consistently hit a 3" target at 10 yards. For self defense I see no reason to be able to hit the same target at 20 yards. Between me and my family, we have shot about 150 rounds through it (we had a get together day and got some guns out and have some fun) without any problems. I carry daily and I really like this gun. The $50 manufacture rebate was just a bonus! I would recommend this gun! (Posted on 11/26/2015)

Almost didn't write this review because I love this gun so much and I want them all to myself. The feel is awesome and grip is perfect. Very easy to carry and comfortable when moving in and out of vehicle (my Sig 226) is now on my nightstand. Gun surprisingly more accurate than I expected from a Taurus ( they got it right this time) 30 yards in, it will get the job done! Gun carries and feels like a .380, fits in the palm of my hand. I purchased 2 more, 1 for my wife and 1 for my daughter and you can't beat the price for the quality of this gun. I'm buying 2 more! (Posted on 11/26/2015)

My EDC. I've put over 1500 rounds through it in the last 12 months without problems. I also like that it came with 2 12-round mags. A lot of higher priced guns don't. (Posted on 11/17/2015)

This is a low end priced firearm that is really made very well. It has worked very well for the 200 rds I have fired thru it - no malfunctions. This is NOT a target gun so to expect pin point accuracy is unrealistic. It is a fine reliable carry gun. Every bit as good as many firearms of this type at twice the price. (Posted on 11/15/2015)
