Great little pistol. Easily concealable, no jams, no other problems so far. Accurate as you can expect from a small pistol. Had it within a week of ordering from rk guns. No problems picking it up from rural king at the Mercer mall. Overall very happy with the pistol and whole experience and would highly recommend. (Posted on 6/17/2017)

I purchased this gun for $309.99 a my local Rural King. I was thrilled to bring it home, it was my first Ruger. But it shot about 8" low at 10 yds. At 20yds it hit way below the target. I have shot 200 rounds through it and called Ruger to see if I could get a higher rear site in order to correct the problem, They were no help at all. I hate to say it but I could have bought a Hi-Point for have he money and probably would have been more accurate. This will be my last Ruger! (Posted on 4/28/2017)

I purchased this gun last month through rkguns/RK in Spring Hill, FL. The whole tramsaction only took 6 days; very fast order.

I have put 100 rounds of cheap Federal Ammo through it so far with no issues. This really seems (knock on wood) to be the perfect combo of value, concealability, power, and reliability.

I still carry my LCP2, but that's not to say that I couldn't carry this weapon. I know Hickok and others prefer the pro model without the safety and magazine disconnect, but as a lefty I'm fine with it. The safety is easy for quick disconnect and I won't drop a mag unintentionally.

My only complaint is that it only comes with one magazine, but I purchased 2 more online for a total cost of $42.

Overall, so far so good, love this gun. Thank you Ruger, well-done with the stiker fired improvements with this and the LCP2. (Posted on 4/11/2017)

A fantastic little 9 mm for summer carry or all time carry. I do like the thumb safety, easy to work.
And the option to change the magazine base plate so you can grip with the pinky.

The sites are good- no complaints at all.
Adding the Talon Granulate grips makes this an easy to shoot gun. (Posted on 4/5/2017)

I WAS GOING TO BUY A .38 REVOLVER BUT I WATCHED HICKOK45'S YOU TUBE MANY TIMES ON THE LC9S AND HE WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE STRIKER TRIGGER. I BOUGHT THE LC9S AND I AM THRILLED WITH IT. THE LC9S IS THE BEST HANDGUN I COULD HAVE BOUGHT FOR THE PRICE AND IT'S A RUGER!!! MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS IT TOOK THREE AND A HALF HOURS TO ACTUALLY PURCHASE IT AT MY LOCAL RURAL KING. Big improvement Review by Ole Nick

The summery tells it all. I had the LC9 and was pleased with the concealable aspect of the weapon. It was light enough, small enough, not too snappy, but the trigger was something you had to work on to be proficient in hitting your target. Today was my first chance to take the LC9S to the range. There is a world of difference in the triggers. The trigger still has a rather long travel but the trigger is crisp, more manageable and was a big improvement over the LC9. The second plus for buying the improved version is all my accessories work on the new gun. Holster, laser, and magazines. If you have an LC9 and like it, get the improved version, you'll love it. Purchased from RK last week. Took gun to the range today. What a sweet and pleasant gun to shoot!!! I love everything about it. First, the trigger pull is smooth, crisp, light. I had more control over the gun being on target with the light trigger pull. I was expecting the recoil to be significant but was not a problem at all. I have a fairly new XDS 9mm and could tell no difference in recoil between the two. This will be my favorite weapon to carry. Just a little bigger than my Ruger LCP but a whole lot smaller and easier to conceal than my XDS.
I shot 150 rounds of 115 gr mixed brand ammo, no jams, no misfires!!! It's a keeper!!! (Posted on 3/4/2017)

I have owned and carried Sig P229, P228, P320, P938, Glock 23, Glock 19, and Shield .40 and I can truly say that this LC9s is by far the easiest to carry and the best shooting gun I have carried. Light, slim and never though to myself "am I printing?" Much confidence in this gun. Have ran over 500 rounds of Critical defense, Ultimate defense and ball ammo of various brands with not a single hiccup. Dead on accuracy for me at 20-30 ft and not too snappy. For $309, you will not find a better CC gun. Stop thinking about it and go buy one while they are cheap. (Posted on 2/26/2017)

Great pistol, great price Review by duck136

I just purchased the Ruger 9mm LC9S and I believe I have found my answer to my new pocket gun. I had been carrying a .38 Colt Detective Special my dad gave me years ago and I have carried it in my front pocket for a long time. It has suited my purpose till lately when I felt it was a little bulky (cylinder diameter) and didn't quite feel right. Now I was raised a revolver man and I still feel strongly about them and feel they are the most goof proof hand weapon out there, but I needed a thinner concealed carry that had a good punch. I researched a lot of concealed carry guns and I determined that for the money and the least powerful caliber I would carry as a primary weapon it was the LC9S. It fits in my front pocket, back pocket, waist band and back as well as the 1903 Colt I use to carry (.32 caliber, but it was concealable due to its thin profile). This pistol has a good trigger pull (about 5.5 pounds) is thin and shoots great. 7+1 round is more than enough if you have practiced any at all (as a retired policeman I qualified at the 50 yard line for years and as I am retired I still shoot there and qualify). This is truely a great pistol and worth much more than the $309.00 I paid for it and its made in America. My only thoughts to Ruger is PLEASE start selling it with 2 or 3 magazines and a hard case or even a pocket holster like the LCP380. Your customers deserve it. (Posted on 2/22/2017)

Great little gun. Review by Tim

I first learned how to shoot a pistol with a 1911 and that's still my preferred gun. Today there are many guns on the market that cater to the concealed carry crowd so I decided to look into a smaller pistol in 9 mm. Fortunately some of the gun ranges around here have guns that you can try on free rental days and I've tried quite a few. My first reaction to the smallest is that I don't like the feel of a blowback so that rules them out right away. The LC9s was a real surprise. For as small as it is, it is surprisingly controllable. I'm not sure why that is - the grip, the timing of the action, the low barrel - but it is actually pleasant to shoot. I always have my drills when I'm at the range and I was really surprised by how well I was able to score one-handed, strong or weak side. I highly recommend this pistol even for the most serious shooter and the price can't be beat, especially during an RK rebate session. (Posted on 2/11/2017)

The Ruger LC9s is an excellent small carry 9mm. I bought my wife one of these last year for Christmas and I liked shooting hers so much, I had to get one for myself. I have shot this several times and no matter what ammo I feed through it, it has never failed. It is also surprisingly accurate - I am able to shoot it at 10 yards with about 4" groups free-handed. Good enough for a small carry to ward off the bad guys! The only "problem" is fitting the gun into your pants pocket on tighter jeans. If you wear loose jeans or cargo shorts, this should be no problem.

I now own the Ruger LC9s, SR9c, and the American rifle in .243. All I can say is that for the looks, quality, price, and extreme reliability I have seen in these guns, you just can't go wrong with buying a Ruger. Hard to imagine ever buying anything else! (Posted on 12/26/2016)

I wanted a reliable semi auto that was small and concealable yet carried a punch. I found it in the Ruger LC9S. This little gun has slim no snag lines allowing for fairly easy conceal carry (no gun is perfect). It is well balanced and is not too snappy allowing one to get back on target quickly. I considered many different firearms for my purposes and am truly happy and relieved to have found this reliable little Ruger. A week after purchase there was a $10.00 price drop at several retailers, bad timing.
I purchased this gun because of good reviews, especially the good trigger and they were correct. The trigger is smooth and crisp, very nice. I am pleased with Ruger firearms that I own and this one is another good one.
The only negative for me is my hands are large and the trigger safety is in the way of getting my finger onto the trigger. A change of the trigger shape would fix this.
Overall, very happy with this purchase. (Posted on 12/1/2016)

I purchased the LC9s because I wanted a little more fire power from my LCP .380 (which by the way is an excellent concealed carry). The LC9s fired very smoothly with fairly low recoil. So impressed with Ruger with their light weight and rugged conceled products. The LC9s has very nice sights which makes aiming the concealed weapon very easy and back on mark after firing a round. I was waiting for the LC9s to go on sale, I got a fantastic price from RK on-line with free shipping. The RK representative was quick and knowledgeable in getting my order processed and sent to my local store. I would strongly recommend the LC9s to anyone looking for a well put together and inexpensive CC. (Posted on 11/12/2016)

I bought the LC9s from gunbuyer.com for $309 and couldn't be happier. It does have a lot of recoil compared to full size 9's but you would expect that due to the much smaller size. Anyway, it seems to jam with cheap ammo(steel cased, especially). Most other good ammo is fine as long as you clean properly after every use. Perfect for concealed carry and/or in car. Safe shooting all.

I bought this gun (my very first gun) back in November of 2015. I am used to shooting small caliber rifles and handguns but wanted something for concealed carry. I chose this over the LCP mainly because I felt the LCP was TOO small. The LC9s fits perfectly in my hand and I can easily put 300 rounds though it without it hurting my hands at all. The slide is easy to rack, very user friendly for stripping and cleaning. I practiced a lot with it when I first purchased it but now I take it to the range once or twice a month and put 50 or so though it. The recoil is not bad at all. I have weak wrists and very little grip strength in my left hand from nerve damage and this gun doesn't give me any problems. It is very accurate even at larger than necessary (for personal protection) distances and is a lot of fun to shoot. I have minimal problems with misfire or failures to feed and I believe those were due to cheap range ammo and not cleaning the gun properly after each range session. As far as concealed carry goes. I am 5'5" 120lbs and have a very slim profile. Because of the cold weather, coats and jackets and sweaters have let me carry this gun concealed with no problem. But as the warmer months approach I am coming to the conclusion that for a woman my size I will need something smaller or switch to open carry (which I am not too fond of.) So I think I will buy the LCP this spring as well to make it easier to carry a pistol with me all year round. All in all this is a great gun at a great value and is very dependable so far. I have and will keep recommending it. Thanks! (Posted on 2/18/2016)

I love the way this gun handles and she's very accurate. Although, if I fill my clip full she will misfire the first round every time. I have learned to just leave that last bullet out and she's easy peasy. (Posted on 1/22/2016)

Purchased this LC9 in store. Feels great and it does everything you would want a conceal to do! Shot pattern was beautiful first time out....... (Posted on 12/27/2015)
