Description

Like all Model 870 shotguns, this workhorse features a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength and reliability. The silky-smooth twin action bars prevent binding and twisting so you'll always have the chance to get off a second shot. Appropriately dressed for the hunt and not for the wall, each shotgun sports non-reflective, black matte metalwork and a no-frills, satin-finish hardwood stock and forend. This 870 Express model is a 12 gauge with a 28" vent rib barrel, single bead sight, and Modified Rem Choke.

One of the best shotguns ever made! Review by SARG

The rural king sales person dropped the barrel when opening the box, but not a scratch after bouncing off the concrete floor. The box was crushed on the one side and the barrel slipped out, (poor packaging on Remington's part) I don't fault the sales person. Cleaned the shotgun up, was full of packing oil, and very rough and tight, but the action smoothed out alike butter after working the action. The fit and finish was excellent, shot twenty rounds with not a problem. Good entry shotgun that is very reliable, with long history of excellence. For a great price it does not get any better. I took it home. gave it a good cleaning and greased it up. The next morning I took my Remington shooting. The first 3-4 shots, I worked out the jams when pumping it and after that it worked perfectly! I love it. The wood feels so good and its just such a good shotgun. I highly recommend this shotgun to anyone who hunts or likes to shoot clay pigeons. Its too long for proper home defense but otherwise, you cant go wrong with this shotgun. (Posted on 9/8/2018)

Bought this for shooting 3gun heavy metal division where you must use a pump shotgun. A mag extension and smoothing the loading port is all that is necessary. Works great. (Posted on 8/7/2018)

I bought my first 870 when I was 15 45 years ago. I paid more than this. it had a slug barrel and I took many a deer with it in OH. All the older guys I went with had semi auto's. and many of the jammed costing opportunities are large deer. this gun has been one of the constants in my life. Love it. I put a 2.5 power weaver scope on it and it was very accurate to 100 yards. You cant go wrong. (Posted on 3/11/2018)

I have two of these. For a solid, dependable, good lookin' basic shotgun, here you go. Maybe a tad on the heavy side but no problem. Excellent value. (Posted on 3/8/2018)

You just can't go wrong with this shotgun. I think the no nonsense finish is great and I think it looks better the more I use it and oil it down. I know people that have rifles and shotguns that have those beautiful reflective finishes on their high end guns, but they have to be very vigilant to keep them from getting dinged up or scratch, not mention they show up fingerprints. My 870 Express looks great all the time and functions just as flawlessly as the Wingmaster. (Posted on 1/27/2017)
Great first shotgun Review by Jeff M

I've owned an 870 express for about 2 years. I bought one after I started getting into trap shooting. I've taken it to the range anout twice a month for as long as I've had it, no issues to report. It was tough to break down and clean until I got the hang of it and it's a bit heavy in my opinion. Overall, a great first shotgun. (Posted on 1/7/2017)
