Great little gun perfect for concealed use easy to load and shoot. Also uses cheap 38 ammo.I like to
use small grain rounds (85-120) because of its size. (Posted on 8/7/2016)

Was what I expected. Trigger is hard to pull, but it is a good safety feature. There is a trick to trigger when pulling it. Pull down instead of back. (Posted on 8/6/2016)

Compact and easy to use. This is my go anywhere conceal carry. Surprised on the finish. Held some in the gun stores years ago and this one did not contain any of the cosmetic flaws I observed. Heavy trigger pull. It's a in and down motion. Have to practice and break in. I am interested in buying the 9mm barrel and extractor. (Posted on 8/6/2016)

Seems to be fairly well made. It has a little heft to is so it doesn't feel like it will fly out of your hand when you shoot it, but not so much you think you have a brick in your pocket or purse. (Posted on 8/3/2016)

I think it's a great little gun. The trigger pull is hard for a reason. If you want a 3 pound pull then buy a different gun. Shoots good and feels good in the hand. (Posted on 8/1/2016)

Fun to talk about. It is a conversation piece and back-up gun. Not made for repeated shooting at the range. Be thankful for the hard trigger pull, you would not want this going off in your pocket. The trick is to pull, the trigger downward and not straight back. (Posted on 8/1/2016)

Bought cause it was on sale for 99 bucks. Got it home and fired it about 6 times before it started not firing. Out of a box of 50 American Eagle .38 I had 6 no fires compared to same brand 9mm in my glock i have not ever had a no fire with over 2000 round fired. Gotta be the gun. Very hard trigger pull as well. So hard to pull that my hand hurt after only 12 or so rounds. Could hit the target but that was expected with such a short barrel and small gun with hard trigger pull. Looks good in the safe. (Posted on 7/31/2016)

Overall not too bad in quality. It is after all a derringer designed for close range shooting. Big problem is the horrible trigger. Way past a design for safety. With a better trigger pull the gun would be great. (Posted on 7/30/2016)

A nice little gun, but one hell of a trigger pull! This gun is more of a novelty item. It's not practical in my opinion to use as a conceal carry gun. (Posted on 7/30/2016)
OK, but trigger is terrible Review by K80

I bought two of these guns kind of as a joke. I had read that the triggers were horrible and that's stating it mildly. Over 20 lb. trigger pull is not something a woman could handle nor some men. My gunsmith disassembled the guns and reduced the spring tension to an acceptable 10 lb. pull. This is strictly and emergency use gun, but throwing it at someone because you can't pull the trigger is not the best scenario. (Posted on 7/29/2016)

Pot metal casting and punched parts in side.Couldnt get it to fire reliably, so I reworked it as a single barrel where the bottom barrels only shoots .Life time warranty And all that but I've been down that road before ,The old sane, you get what you pay for goes here and would not bet my life on this one ,for 99.00 + shipping & tax. As well I wouldn't trust on getting your customer rebate back as promised . (Posted on 7/28/2016)

The most UN-safe knife in the drawer is the dull knife. Because the knife is dull you press harder and that is when things go wrong.
I think this holds true with the Cobra Big Bore derringer also. I bought one and am disappointed, Was hoping for a fun or at least a gun I could count on as a backup. Trigger pull and motion may be there for safety so it doesn't go off in your pocket; but it is excessive. The pull is so hard it makes this gun UN-safe. Your pulling so hard you don't have a good grip or control. Every round you send down range you are responsible for where it goes. Keep it in a pocket holster and it won't go off unexpectedly. I know Cobra does not want to change an old design; but maybe a trigger guard, or discount on a good pocket holster at initial sale.

Purpose of a Derringer Review by Dark Horse
Quality

Read the reviews on the gun. The derringer is suppose to have a hard trigger pull due to the fact that there is no trigger guard. the 22 long rifle versions of this is at about an 11 pound trigger pull. As for the hammer breaking when shooting it at the range this gun is not made for taking to the range to shot. It is designed to be fired twice at very close range to save your life. I don't know why there are so many great reviews for this piece of junk. I bought the .38 and the hammer broke in two before I could shoot one box of ammo. Very poor materials, ridiculously hard trigger pull - the most unreliable gun I've ever seen. Derringers are supposed to save your life, this one puts it at risk. (Posted on 5/11/2016)

The only issue I have is the trigger pull is about 15 pounds. My wife cannot fire the gun because the trigger is extremely hard. She would have to throw it at someone to be effective. The price is obviously a factor at $120.00. (Posted on 5/4/2016)

It is very nice small fire arm. I ordered it on RKGun and was delivered to the local store, easy pickup. I find it just the right size to drop in my purse and go. The hammer and trigger are a little tough to engage but not unmanageable. Perfect small fire arm for most any situation and the effect is genuine. (Posted on 5/2/2016)

i always wanted to own a derringer and the price was really right on this one. but i will never actually carry this gun. i have a little arthritis and the action is very, very stiff. this makes the gun awkward for me to cock and shoot. trigger pull is damn near a 2 hander for me.compared to my regular carry weapon, i think i'll leave this one in the safe. The reality of carrying is that there are times when one needs to be prepared, but clothing limits the size and choice of personal weapon. The Cobra 38 Special is perfect for the well dressed person who needs good protection. It easily fits in you pockets and is virtually impossible to misfire. It looks good and feels strong in your hand. This weapon is not for show. It is a very effective response to an imminent threat. Finally, the price was fantastic! (Posted on 3/24/2016)

This is a very nice gun that is small and easy to carry. The store ran out of them so had to order it on-line and pick up at a gun dealer. I was hoping it would of just got delivered to the store, but whatever. Will order more guns in the future off this site. (Posted on 11/16/2015)

Why can't online gun purchases be shipped to local RK stores for pickup?
Thank you

what kind of warranty does this gun have? I saw that one of the reviews said the hammer broke before the first box of shells was used. I would hate to buy something that would not last and didn't have a warranty.

Do they make this in a 22 . #8 is just too big of a round .

Why not carry 22LR Cobra?
Much more fun to shoot than a big bore in such a small gun.
Would love a CR22r (Chrome with Rosewood grips)
Just would be fun to plink with.
